Istanbul and Antalya ranked first in housing sales to foreigners.

While foreigners continue to welcome home purchases in Türkiye, 65.2% of home sales to foreigners in Türkiye during the January-October period of this year came from Istanbul and Antalya. According to data from the Turkish Statistical Center, the number of homes sold to foreigners nationwide in the first 10 months of the year was 31,423, of which 65.2% belonged to Istanbul and Antalya. During this period, foreigners purchased 14,424 homes in Istanbul and 6,053 homes in Antalya.

After Istanbul and Antalya, Ankara ranks second with 2,176, followed by Bursa with 1,068, Bursa with 1,08, Izmir with 994, Samsun with 698, Sakarya with 678, and Muğla with 613. The highest number of sales to foreigners in October was in Istanbul with 2,458 units, while in September, the highest number of housing sales to foreigners was in Antalya with 1,018 units.

Ömer Faruk Akbal, President of the Association for the Promotion of Real Estate to Foreigners (GIGDER), stated, “Istanbul and Antalya are among the most important cities in Türkiye. Istanbul should be compared to cities like New York and London. Therefore, we should utilize this capacity and invest more. Antalya is one of the most important brands in the world in the field of tourism and can be compared to the most important tourist cities in the world.“
