The district stands out thanks to its central location and housing projects, as well as urban transformation and other real estate projects, and developments in transportation such as the Metro, Ka\u011f\u0131thane and Dolmabah\u00e7e Tunnels, the 3rd bridge, the 3rd airport, and the three-story tunnel (Great Istanbul Tunnel).<\/p>\n
Ka\u011f\u0131thane is a district on the European side of Istanbul. It is bordered by Sar\u0131yer to the north, Be\u015fikta\u015f to the northeast, \u015ei\u015fli to the east and south, Beyo\u011flu to the southwest, and Ey\u00fcpsultan to the west. The district has a short coastline on the Golden Horn where the Ka\u011f\u0131thane Stream ends.<\/p>\n
The terrain is rugged, consisting of streams and valleys. These areas are used as residential areas.<\/p>\n
The district takes its name from a stream that flows into the Golden Horn in Istanbul, and from the old paper mills located in its valley. In addition to these mills, it is known that there were also flour mills and gunpowder factories in the area, and training grounds for javelin games and archery in the flat regions. Today, numerous residential and office projects are being implemented in every neighborhood of the district. Already bordering the developed areas of the European side of Istanbul, Ka\u011f\u0131thane is integrated with Ayaza\u011fa-Maslak via the Cendere axis-Seyrantepe to the north; Levent and \u015ei\u015fli to the east; Ey\u00fcp to the west; and Beyo\u011flu-Taksim to the south.<\/p>\n
The district is also home to the new building of the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives, as well as private universities and schools.<\/p>\n
In the center of Ka\u011f\u0131thane, you can find the K\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck Kemal Children's Stage and the Sadabad Stage of the City Theaters, which is under the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In addition, there are cultural centers belonging to the district municipality.<\/p>\n
